Double Posting on Question of the Day and Daily Trivia Questions

I finally talked my roommate into signing up and collecting Oodles. He decided to try it since I've got a few neat things.

To my surprise, when he went to answer the Daily Trivia Questions, none of the answers were listed here. I looked over his questions and found that he has received totally different questions from what I started with (so much for the theory we all start with the same questions regardless of the day we start).

I've asked him to keep track of the questions and answers so I can post them here. Starting today, there will be separate postings for each of our answers. I'll list them as "Part 1" and "Part 2" in the post title. I want to keep them separate so it is easier for everyone to find the answers.

Look for his list to be posted later this afternoon (if he ever gets it to me).

Keep on Oodling!

  1. It seems that the questions are random. Here is a database I'm using for finding the answer. Hopefully, it will help.

  2. WildHog777- Hey just to let u know I started oodling last june, my answers for the daily trivia come from your December listings. My mom started oodling in october and her's are in your November. So you might want to check and see if you posted his answers in one of your earlier months. Thanks again for all you do

  3. Thanks for the info on the database, but we are both trivia nuts and can answer most of the questions. For the few I can't answer, I look it up on Google.

I just completed doing a search of the blog on all his questions from today. None of them are listed in the earlier months.

Looks like this "database" will be growing faster.

    Happy Oodling!

  5. I believe the trivia questions are in order. I have started 20 different accounts (some for me and others for friends and family) and when I started each one, the questions were the same and followed in the same order. (I used to write them out to test this theory.) However, I have not started any new accounts in many months. Because of what WildHog777 said, I'm thinking maybe they did away with some of the beginning questions to consolidate their trivia question base. I don't know, just a thought.

I'll be interested in what your roommate's questions are. I'll recognize if they are the same beginning questions.

Anyway, I'm hoping you will make it easy for those of us who have been using your blog to find our daily question and not get confused by the "new" questions posting.

    Thanks!

  6. Just to let you know, I've been utilizing your blog for about 3 or 4 months now and so far, (knock on wood), gsn hasn't changed up the order of my questions. Thanks btw!

  7. Thank you all for your comments. For me, this is a fun and engaging project (it keeps me off the streets).

I'm not sure anymore how they decide what questions you start out with. I started on Sept. 8th and some people told me they were the same questions as on their first day (and they started in June / July). Also, a number of people had the same questions that I did on my first day who started in October / Nov. Who knows what criteria they use (or if its random).

My roommate's questions will always be post number 2. It really shouldn't affect anyone's ability to locate the answer they are looking for. If in doubt, use the search box at the top. It should take you right to it (if it's on the blog).

Thanks again to all of you and Keep on Oodling!

  8. Hi there,
I first found my answers in your Nov. list and I am now into your Dec. list. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the order. Just depends on when you start. I just go to the differend months and do my edit/find on this page command to get my starting questions. Thanks for all your help.

  9. His questions do seem familiar, but old. I started the first weekend of June with the normal lag in finding the 10 point and challenge questions, and rarely missing a day, yet I am only 1/5th of a day behind your posts (now part one)

Since the chain theory still seems to prove true, perhaps it would make things easier if the part two questions were placed on a separate page (maybe with a link to the alternative chain on this page) until they do hit your earliest questions

  10. I don't know if you noticed this, but when you list the Trivia questions you put "Question of the Day and Trivia Questions" then the day and date. It is so long that the last digit of the date is missing. This makes it harder to find the right date. I often have to count up from the single digit dates or down from when it changes to 20 or whatever. Can you make the name smaller by abbreviating a word or something so the whole date will show in the list?

I don't want to seem ungrateful in any way, I really appreciate your work.

    Thanks

  11. Wow! I didn't think this post would see so much activity.

Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions.

I don't think splitting the second post to another page would be necessary (besides it would mean creating and maintaining another blog). If you're not sure where the answer might be, the search box will show exactly where it is.

Actually, I hadn't noticed the issue with the post titles. I can understand your concern. I can start abbreviating the titles (and will starting with tomorrow's posts). From this point on, it will be "QOD & Trivia (date). Good catch!

Again, thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I want to improve your visit here and make it a pleasant experience.

    Happy Oodling!
